The heart of our ministryPsalm 92:12-15, “The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree; he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.  Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God.  They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green, to declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock,

and there is no unrighteousness

in Him.”

Life Adult Bible Fellowship Class:

We have a special class for our

life adults called the “Sojourners

Class.”  We invite all adults 55

years and up, single or married,

to join us at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday

for a great time of singing, prayer,

and interactive study.  Our director,

Howard Geis, is teaching the class.

Reflections from the Life Adult Jubilee Conference 2011!

One of the highlights of our Life Adult ministry is attending the Jubilee Conference.  Each year the three day conference is held in Branson, Missouri.  The purpose of this conference is to spiritually encourage, challenge, and minister to Senior Adults.  This year was just outstanding as we heard pastors Charles Stanley and Johnny Hunt speak to our group.  We also were privileged to hear Dino, Lynda Randle, and Mary Lowry minister to us with great music.  We want to encourage all of our Life (Senior) Adults to keep this conference in mind as we plan to attend next year’s Jubilee Conference which will be held in April 2012.

Life Adult Luncheons!

Once a month following the morning worship service, we host a special luncheon for all of our Life Adults.  It is a wonderful time of eating and fellowshipping together.  We want to encourage all of our Life (Senior) Adults here at Heritage to join us for our next luncheon which will be held on Sunday, June 12th, following the morning worship service.

Are you attending a Sunday School Class?

If you are a senior adult and are not involved in a Sunday school class, then we want to encourage you to come and be a part of our special class.  This class is designed for all senior adults with the purpose of helping each one grow in their relationship with the Lord.  I know you might be asking the question, “Would I fit in with that group?”  Well, I am glad you asked.  You see our class is made up of single, married, and widowed folks.  So if you are in any one of these categories, then you would fit in just perfectly!  We are currently studying the book of Philippians as we meet in the west building in the middle quad at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday morning.  Now would be a perfect time to join as we have great things planned for this coming summer.  Why don’t you come and visit us this Sunday.  We would be thrilled to have you! …

Personal Note from Howard:

Dear Folks,

Spring is almost here and I am sure we are all looking forward to green grass, beautiful flowers, colorful budding trees, and of course warmer weather. There is just something about spring that encourages and energizes us all as we enjoy and witness the beauty that new life in all the plants and trees brings. The same can be true of us. When there is freshness and spiritual vibrancy in our lives, it produces a spiritual fragrance that touches the lives of people all around us. Second Corinthians 2:14 says: “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in His triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.”  O that we would be like the budding trees and fresh sprouting plants and bring forth spiritual beauty with a sweet smelling aroma that will impact the lives of others for the glory of God. Our Life verse for our ministry reminds us of this as well. As a matter of fact, would you take a moment right now and read Psalm 92:12-15 and then ask the Lord to do a fresh work in your life? I believe God wants to do a fresh work in our hearts so that we will yield fruit for His Glory. It truly is a joy for Carolyn and me to be leading the Life Adult

Ministry here at Heritage.  We feel very blessed to be a part of such

a wonderful group of people.  Our prayer is that God would touch

each heart and life through the many facets of this ministry. It’s

our desire to see the heart of our ministry come to pass in each of

our lives.

Grateful for you,

Howard and Carolyn Geis
