The Heritage International Ministry’s purpose is to show God’s love to Internationals and teach them about Christ through our words and our actions. As 1 John 3:18-19 says, “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.”
Just like when we visit another country and feel completely alienated from the culture, language, and the people, some Internationals in the U.S. often feel the same way-- alone and overlooked. Our motto is “See as Christ sees. Love as God loves.” We believe that God calls the nations to Himself. All nations. God doesn’t see color and race, He sees the heart. “The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7b
80% of International Students studying in the U.S.
never visit an American home. We want to
change that. We are working on pairing
International students up with American families
to share dinner once a month and special
holidays through our International Friendship
program. What an opportunity to share Christ’s
love and grace to the nations without leaving
your own home!
We offer a Conversation Café every Tuesday in
the Heritage Café at 7:00pm. Internationals come
and speak with Heritage members to practice
their conversational English in a relaxed coffee
shop setting. Through the Conversation Café,
we build friendships with the Internationals and
we show them that we care for them and most
importantly, that Christ cares for them.
